Bulgaria

One of my favourite countries in Europe is Bulgaria. It is a country in Southeast Europe and it borders 5 other countries (Greece, Romania, Serbia, The Republic of Macedonia & Turkey). Not only is it my second home it is an amazing country. It is Very small but you have the Black Sea cost on the east and then mountains on the southwestern meaning there is both summer & winter resorts in the country.

The capital of the Bulgaria is Sofia. It is a city with a lot of history & one of the largest eastern othordox church is situated there.

The second largest city is Plovdiv. It was originally a Phoenician settlement &  later became a major city of the Roman Empire. Soon it became a part of the Byzantine Empire, and then – Ottoman. Travelers usually inspect the Roman amphitheater, an aqueduct, Ottoman baths. In Russia, Plovdiv is also famous thanks to the huge statue of the “Alyosha” – memorial to Soviet soldiers, assigned to one of the hills above the city.

There are many different places to see in Bulgaria & I would definitely recomend it to anyone who wants to visit Eastern Europe. One thing that I found fascinating is the 7 Rila Lakes, they are a group of lakes of Glacian origin & are situated on the Rila mountains. Lakes on top of a mountain!!! WOW. In the summer you can go to Varna or Burgas. The Black Sea cost is amongst one of the most beautiful coastlines in Europe & In the winter you can go skiing in Borovetz, Pamporovo or Bansko :))
